Understanding Subluxation

The key to true health is function.  The job of the brain and nervous system is to keep you healthy.  If there is any interference to that function, problems can arise.  Unfortunately science has discovered an interference call the vertebral subluxation complex. The Vertebral Subluxation Complex (also called VSC or subluxation) is an interference within the Spine when one or more of the bones of your spine move out of position and create pressure on, or irritate spinal nerves.  Having this pressure causes those nerves to malfunction and interfere with the signals traveling over those nerves. A process acures and degeneration takes place, further interfering with the functions of the body.

In a near normal spine you will view spaces where the disc’s are, spaces where the nerves come out and a c-shape curve.

Phase 1

Phase1.jpg

When someone has there first injury.  If it is left uncorrected the body can heal in wrong.  When it does this the nerve becomes pinched and irritated, muscles start to spasm and inflammation and scar tissue sets in.

Phase 2

If phase I is left uncorrected the body can continue to heal in wrong.  When it does this the nerve becomes pinched and irritated, muscles spasm and inflammation increases. Scar tissue becomes permanent.

If phase II is left uncorrected the body can continue to heal in wrong.  When it does this the nerve becomes pinched and irritated, muscles spasm and inflammation increases. Inflammation attracts scar tissue.  This scar tissue infiltrates the muscle and grows everything together.  It continues to erode away at the bone. Scar tissue is like the layers of an onion.  Like the layers of the skin of an onion, scar tissue continues to build.

Phase 3

Phase 4

Once someone has reached Phase IV there can be complete fusion.

Depending on what phase of degeneration your body is in, determines what type of healing we will be able to help you with.  Call for an exam to determine where you are at.  The exam allows us to determine where you are at and to make needed recommendation.
